Q: What is pre-order?
Pre-order items have not been released by the manufacture and therefore are not yet instock. In the product description we give an estimated release date. Please remember it is our best estimate and anime toys are often delayed by up to 6 months or even cancelled without warning.
Q: How will i know in the future which items at TokyoToys.com are Pre-Order?
At the very end of a products name we state "*Pre" followed by the estimated month and year of release, "(Dec 2006)*".
For example the Chii 7n Plush below: Estimated release date is April 2006.
Chobits: "Chii 7in Plush" *PRE (APR 2006)*
Q: How do i buy these items?
Add them to your shopping cart and checkout like you would for instock items.
Q: Whats a *PRE (TBA)* item?
"TBA" means, "To Be Announced". The release date for these item/s has not been confirmed. We will update the item/s as soon as we know. Customers may pre-order such item/s before the date is confirmed, but please remember the wait could be 6 to 8 months.
Q: Can i checkout pre-order items with instock items?
No. Please make separate orders for instock & pre-order items.
Q: Will i be charged on checkout?
You will not be charged at the time of placing your order. We will contact you once the item/s are instock for payment.
Q: Once the items are instock how long will i have to make payment?
You must make payment within one week of the item coming instock. This is because TokyoToys.com do not have the space to 'reserve' items for long periods of time as they may get damaged or accidentally sold to other customers.
Q: Are there any limits to what items i can pre-order?
No, you can order as many pre-order items as you wish, but remember if you can not make payment 1 week after an item comes instock it will be offered to other customers.
Q: How do i cancel a pre-order?
Please email us via the link at the top of our website.
Q: When i placed my pre-order, the price was X pounds cheaper than the instock price?
Often we award customers a special pre-order price. Once the item comes instock the price will increase, but those who placed their pre-order will benefit from the reduced price!
Q: I have placed many pre-orders with TokyoToys.com over a period of time. What about combined shipping & free shipping?
When items come instock our staff will calculate which items can be shipped together and combine shipping. If your order qualifies we will apply free shipping!
Q: Why should i pre-order?
Anime toys are all limited editions. Therefore it is very risky for TokyoToys.com to buy in 'bulk'. Often we only purchase as many items as we get pre-orders for plus a few extra units. Therefore if you don't pre-order, you may miss out on a great product as we may not be able to get it again for 6 months to 1 years time (or even at all)!
Q: Are my pre-orders reserved?
Yes, even if our website shows the pre-order as "out of stock" your pre-order has been logged and reserved for you! But please remember we can only guarantee reserving your item for a period of 1 week after they come instock. Please feel free to contact us to enquire about your item.
Q: I've placed my pre-order/s, what happens next?
Sit back and relax. Our computerized system will report to us which items are instock and who ordered them. We will contact you as soon as the item is instock. If you feel we may have forgotten about your order please write to us via the link at the top left of our website.
Q: Where can i see the latest estimated release dates for pre-order items?
We are working on a special page and will be ready in Nov 2006.
